Road to Wellness Thoughts

Mourning Dove (Christine Quintasket) - (1888-1936) Salish

…everything on the earth has a purpose, every disease an herb to cure it, and every person a mission. This is the Indian theory of existence.

The Yellow Emperor Classic of Internal Medicine

"Everything in creation is covered by Heaven and supported by Earth."

Lao-tzu

If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading.

Wenda Brewster O’Reilly, Ph.D. in Organon of the Medical Art

Mourning and grief are extinguished in the emotional mind on hearing an account of another’s still greater bereavement, even if the account is only fictitious.

Dr. Samuel Hahnemann in Organon of the Medical Art

In the living organism, a weaker dynamic affection is permanently extinguished by a stronger one, if the stronger one is very similar to the weaker one in its manifestation.

Dr. Samuel Hahnemann in Aphorism 212 Organon of the Medical Art

There is no powerful medicinal substance in the world which does not very notable alter the state of the disposition and mind in the healthy individual who tests it, and every medicine does so in a different manner.

Dr. Samuel Hahnemann in Organon of the Medical Art

In the living organism, a weaker dynamic affection is permanently extinguished by a stronger one, if the stronger one is very similar to the weaker one in its manifestation.

Rajan Sankaran in The Spirit of Homeopathy

One major difference between situational stress and stress from disease is that in situational stress (i.e. when man is healthy) he feels OK about himself and experiences himself to be no different from others. In a disease state he feels himself separated and special in a negative way.

George Vithoulkas in The Science of Homeopathy

The most healthy and emotionally evolved people experience some of the most profound states known to mankind: mystical experiences, ecstasy, pure love, religious devotion, and a wide range of sublime feelings difficult to describe, and in our era limited to only a small number of rare beings. As a generalization, it can be said that imbalances on the emotional plane manifest themselves as heightened sensitivity to the sense of ourselves as vulnerable beings separate from the rest of creation; emotionally disturbed states tend to revolve around issues of personal comfort, personal survival, and personal expression. On the other hand, the most evolved emotional states tend to involve feelings of the Oneness of ourselves with all creation-love, bliss, devotion, etc. Thus positive feelings in an individual will always tend to create a sense of unification with the outside world; on the contrary, negative feelings will tend to produce a sense of isolation and separation from the outside world. (page 30,31)

A sudden grief or sudden fear, a sudden communication of bad news can throw the organism into extreme suffering that can unbalance the organism for the rest of its life. Why is it that some people can experience such shock for a brief time, but others degenerate into a chronic and deteriorating state of health? What are the qualities on the mental level which lead to this difference in susceptibility?

If we meditate upon the source of mental or emotional suffering, it gradually becomes clear that such suffering arises from tow basic sources: broken ambitions and broken attachments. These in turn are another way of saying selfishness and acquisitiveness. (page 29)

Rajan Sankaran in The Spirit of Homeopathy

Health, I realized, was man’s freedom to be in the moment and fulfill the purpose of life. I could now appreciate Hahnemann’s vision that man, like all creatures, is an instrument of the spirit and is assigned a specific purpose by it. …Disease comes in the way of the organism’s ability to fulfill this purpose, since it does not allow man to react to the present. It makes him react according to a situation from the past.
